Greg Hastings’ Tournament Paintball 2 Hits in 2009

SEATTLE, WA.  (November 14, 2008)  - Greenwave proudly announces Greg Hastings’ Tournament Paintball 2 (GHTP2), a new first person shooter capturing the sick intensity and incredibly unique gameplay of paintball - the Sport of Combat.

The Greg Hastings’ Tournament Paintball video game franchise will again impress dedicated gamers and paintball players alike who are looking for speed, strategy and skill in their next console shooter. GHTP 2 will launch on the Xbox 360®video game and entertainment system from Microsoft in 2009. Other game platforms will be announced at a future date.

Set on the most realistic paintball battlefields, and utilizing distinct paintball formats, including 7 Man, 10 Man Woodsball, and Scenario play, GHTP2 will push the envelope of technology, showcasing artificial intelligence, graphics, physics and animations that fully embrace the true nature and realism of competition paintball.  Gamers will take on real teams and earn their ranks in real leagues. On the road to becoming a champion in tournament speedball, woodsball and scenario tournaments, gamers will have an incredible array of paintball weaponry at their disposal, well beyond just paintball markers.

“GHTP has been in the top 10 on Xbox LIVE and critically acclaimed by world champion gamers, so I’m very excited to deliver another hit paintball shooter,” said Greg Hastings, who has been a professional paintball player for the last 21 years and deeply involved in the development of the GHTP franchise since its inception. “We are coding specifically for Xbox 360 and each other console, so you won’t see a substandard port here.  Paintball isone of the fastest sports in the world, so I insist that our entire dev team become proficient at paintball. Once again, GHTP2 will thoroughly surprise you.”

Utilizing an all new proprietary engine, the much anticipated GHTP sequel will bring new, high-definition life into the GHTP franchise.  With heavy emphasis on team management, growth of individual skills, choice of path through game, and fun paintball oriented gameplay, GHTP2 represents Greg Hastings and Greenwave’s continued commitment to deliver a unique shooter experience. GHTP2 is not yet rated.

“Making this game is a fun process,” said Oliver Lang, Captain of the World Champion Ironmen.  “It’s very easy to see that this is authentic paintball. The more you make your character play smart paintball and by articulating your character’s body movements and positioning correctly, the more you’ll blast your opponents in the face. I have a pretty big character role in this game, so I’m having fun.”

The first GHTP video game launched on Xbox in 2004. Within a short time, the game’s unique and high speed gameplay established a following in the gamer and paintball communities. GHTP earned positive reviews, including a nomination by Gamespot for “Most Surprisingly Good Game of 2004.” With the interest and support of gamers and paintball players, GHTP achieved Platinum status on Xbox and reached Top 10 on Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network.

Greg Hastings’ Tournament Paintball 2 Hits in 2009
November 14th, 2008 by Scott

Greg first thought of creating an authentic paintball game in August 2006. I had the good fortune that he called me the same day. Together with partners along way, including the other leading paintball players, teams and manufacturers, we were able to make Greg Hastings’ Tournament Paintball a fast and fun game.

The first GHTP game launched on Xbox in 2004. No one else expected much, but we had a good feeling the game would do well after seeing paintball players and some leading gamers battle each fanatically in game testing. Zyos, the two-time Halo World Champion, was in on some epic battles (one resulted in a $500 cash bet on Greg’s team to beat Zyos’ team).  We were excited to hear Zyos and other tournament gamers say they enjoyed the speed and skill required to win. It wasn’t just a random, run and shoot game. In fact, Zyos said it was one of the best shooters he had played. As a way of featuring actual gamers, not just magazines or websites, we even put a quote from Zyos on the back cover.  That was probably the first time a gamer has ever had a quote on a game cover.

Our team is all about listening to what gamers want in their games. The epic battles between gamers and paintball players, and their feedback and input, epitimozes what we are all about. We look forward to ideas, criticism and high fives from gamers and paintball players as we move forward with Greg Hastings’ Tournament Paintball 2. No doubt, there will be some new epic battles between gamers and paintball players, with plenty of side bets.

In the past, we have flown in gamers and paintball players to test the game and give us their feedback. We look forward to having a few of you come check it out for yourselves. We will post more information on the game as we move ahead. Get ready to battle!

Bugs Fixed - PC Delayed for Testing
July 9th, 2008 by Scott

We are grateful for the strong interest in the PC game. Believe me, we read the posts, emails and listen to the phone calls.

Most importantly, we want to ship the highest quality game possible. After launching the Xbox 360 version, some bugs were brought to our attention through the forums. Our team has listened to forum members, and we have been able to fix the bugs. Many of these bugs relate to the PC game as well.

Before launching the PC game, we want to have a third party company do some rigorous testing of the fixed bugs and the game. Many times when you fix one bug, you create another one.

The testing shouldn’t take more than 3-4 days max, but we never know for sure. We also need to confirm a spot with our manufacturer to replicate the discs and assemble the games. If all goes well, the game will be on the shelf in July. We’re doing everything to make that happen.

Yes, this also means we will have a patch coming out for the Xbox 360 game. All patches must be sumbitted to Xbox for their approval, so the timeline for patch availability is more difficult to project.

Sorry to disappoint, but this means the game will be improved.

Confirmed Bug: Bug confirmed in 50 pot achievement
June 24th, 2008 by Patrick

I got this off the xbox.com forum so credit goes to the poster of that thread and here is the link for that:
http://forums.xbox.com/21048949/ShowPost.aspx

But in a nutshell:

Quote:

Hi Richard,
Thanks for your email. We have looked into the problem and found a bug with that achievement. We will address this issues in an upcoming patch. For now, the 50 pot achievement can only be obtained in multiplayer games.

Hope this helps,

Anyone up for a multiplayer game ;)
